First of all, * AAAHHH * I wanna cry because I cannot believe is over, I need so much mooooore. I can’t just close these books and continue with my life! I have so many freaking things to say about this saga!! At first I was a little bit unsure about ACOSF but what a great surprise!!! So here are some points I loved about Nesta and Cassian’s story:
1. YES NESTA QUEEN!
To be honest I think I’m the minority here because I loved Nesta since her very first appearance in ACOTAR. I loved her way to see things and at the same time I kinda understood her. I just love how amazingly fantastic was her development. I think SJM wrote the best development in a character, like what the hell was that, I mean she’s a total queen!
2. Cassian is imperfectly perfect.
I love my Illyrian warrior even more now, I have to admit I kinda preferred Azriel over Cassian in the other books pretty much because of the physical description, my personal taste is more related to Rhys, Lucien and Az, but omg I’m so in love with this bat boy now I’m struggling hard, Jesus the lord I’m in love with 4 fictional guys from a faerie realm…
3. The SPICE
Yes, I enjoyed those chapters as well, who doesn’t? My only concern is how in the world is possible that “theoretically” Cassian is the “smallest” one of the bat boys and Nesta had problems to do her job properly with one hand! I.NEED.ANSWERS.SJM I mean, Rhys was very good in his spicy appearances but Cass, well, I just want to say I’m very jealous of Nesta now, and I can’t imagine how Az is gonna be when he is the one with the impressive wingspan. * WOW *

4. The Friendship
The only references we had about this topic in the other books were the Inner Circle, I could say even Tam & Lucien in the first book, but people, the Valkyries’ friendship (yes, they totally earned that freaking tittle after that hell) I cried when Gwyn said “promise me we’ll face it together” and when Nesta literally accepted her own death to protect her friends, I can’t believe how she transformed those feelings of guilty and darkness into massive protection and love THAT’S CHARACTER DEVELOPMENT PEOPLE!
5. The Mating Bond
SJM’s favorite topic, let’s be honest the woman loves matings bonds as much as we do love reading about them To be honest I knew it since the very first time I read about Cassian and Nesta back in ACOMAF, it was kinda obvious to me that they were made for each other I really wanted to see how their love changed from hate/not caring to the most beautiful and pure love I’ve ever seen. I know the mating bond is tricky but this one was perfect since day 1. Also Cassian learning how to dance just because he wanted to dance with Nesta and not watching her with Eris was epic, and the Solstice gift… my heart melted.
6. Mental Health
Everyone in this series have its own issues with mental health, I’m pretty sure the majority of the characters through all the series had depression. Feyre and Rhys were the obvious ones, but let’s see this: Azriel has been in love with the same girl for over 500 years and she still rejects him. He had a horrible childhood and a lot of traumas to heal and I’m pretty sure too that he’s the quiet and mysterious one because he has the biggest case of depression of all the characters in this series. There’s a scene in which Cass and him are spying Briallyn’s castle to rescue Eris and Cass said something like “I stopped spying because it bored me to death” and he says to Azriel that he doesn’t know how he do that all the time and he said “It suits me” not because he’s a shadowsinger but because he knows how to be really invisible he knows how to be in the dark like his soul and all he is, is always in a dark place, so he found some peace alone because he thinks he’s not enough. Let’s remember that no one knows Mor’s secrets just Feyre so technically Az has spend 500 year not knowing why Mor rejects him all the time. He truly believe he’s not enough for someone like her so he prefers to be alone all the time in a dark corner. Also, Cassian is depressed as well but he’s one of those cases in which the person is always happy to the world but suffering in silence. Just pay attention how he reacts every time someone says he’s a brute. And of course Nesta, I really like how SMJ managed her depression, she try to fill the void with alcohol and sex which is an approach a little bit hard to see in young adult 18+ fantasy books because of what this represents.

7. Azriel’s Extra Chapter
Azriel is one of my favorite characters in general, even though we don’t not a lot about him. I think this extra chapter is a sneak peek of what we are going to see in the future books. Since ACOTAR, ACOMAF and ACOWAR were the main trilogy about Feyre and Rhysand, and ACOFAS were a small novella with the introduction about Nesta and Cassian, this extra chapter could be the introduction to the next book, that the majority believe is going to be about Az and Elain.
I have some theories about this chapter. We already know Az is depressed, and hurt. He wants love too and he’s jealous of Rhys and Cass, and he has this thought I think the majority of us have too: 3 sisters, and 3 brothers. 2 of the sisters have mating bonds with 2 brothers and the other sister is the mate of a random guy, well, not a random guy, Lucien is not random, but he cannot understand why Lucien and not him. So personally, and (unpopular opinion) I think Azriel is not in love with Elain, he’s just desperate and he wants a mating bond like his brothers. Also, I’m not completely sure about the idea of Gwyn and him, I think it would be cute since Gwyn is a great girl but we don’t know a lot about Elain too, a lot of people hate her but we don’t know what she really thinks. So maybe a love triangle in the future books? But to be honest, I would love to see him reach his own inner peace first and heal all his damage before trying to jump into a relationship (also I would love the idea of a well build relationship between Elain with Lucien even though she doesn’t deserve my baby but that’s another topic for another time )
“Power lay in her hand. Death gripped her by the other.”
Sarah J. Maas, A Court of Silver Flames.
I loved this book so much, I think is my new favorite with ACOMAF. It was good from page 1 to the end, and I enjoyed every single little detail. Now my heart is empty I can’t wait for the next masterpiece of a book!
